Municipal Committee Fateh Jang is one of the five MCs of
District Attock. It is located at a distance of 50 kms from
Islamabad on Islamabad-Kohat road and 48 kms from Attock city. It
is connected to other cities like Talagang, Rawalpindi and Kohat
through roads and railways.
According to 1998 Population and Housing
Census, total population and urban population of the tehsil is
214,256 and 25,986 respectively with an annual urban growth rate of
3.92%. Assuming the same growth rate, the present urban population
(year 2005) is 34,012 persons. A mushroom growth of private housing
societies has cropped up on both sides of Islamabad-Fateh Jang
road. The town will grow to 49,960 persons in year 2015 and 73,386
in year 2025.
Government of Punjab has established new local government
system under the Punjab Local
Government Act (PLGA) 2013 after dissolving PLGO 2001. The
Chairman and Vice Chairman
have joined their offices and new local government system
has started functioning.
